Lost Souls DVD Review

In Lost Souls we meet Maya Larkin (Winona Ryder), a former victim of demonic possession. Peter Kelson (Ben Chaplin) is a crime journalist whose body Satan plans to possess to destroy the world unless Maya can stop him.

This supernatural movie marks the directing debut of Janusz Kaminski, the brilliant cinematographer of Schindlers List. With Kaminski at the wheel, you don't expect a bad knockoff of The Exorcist, but sadly, that is what you get!

Lost Souls kept my interest, and wasn't as bad as it could have been, but I do feel Ryder has made some poor choices in movies recently. If you don't expect too much, its OK!

Sorry, I can't find a trailer!

Planet Of The Dead The Flying Creatures

Its not worth taking screengrabs from the Planet of the Dead trailer, as we have seen pictures of everyone in it, except for these! Russell T Davies said there would the 2 aliens in this story, and assuming the half man/half fly creatures are called the Tritovore, these are the currently unnamed others!

Additional: I am told the flying creatures are called The Swarm (originally from the story The Invisible Enemy), thanx to Rockin Liverpool Fan and Doctor who fan for this!

The Sun Do It Again...

Britains favorite comic, The Sun, have done is again! After using one of Scootys photographs last year without asking him, the picture on the left is from todays Sun, again taken by Scooty, the intrepid set reporter!

Scooty does it all for free, for the fun of it, and for love of the show. I hope he gets a guarantee of never again in writing this time! He certainly deserves better than this!

See The Sun report with Scootys photograph. And Scootys original. Note they haven't even credited him for the photograph!

BBC Cutbacks & The Future Of Doctor Who

Earlier today, a BBC insider exclusively revealed that along with other top BBC productions, Doctor Who series 5 is on a serious cost-cutting exercise. Because of megre funding, Steven Moffatt has decided its a return to 1970s style monsters, by using recycled 1970s childrens TV characters as enemies for the forthcoming series.

- From the Clangers we will scream at the Soup Dragon.
- From The Banana Splits we hide in fear of Snorky.
- From Chorlton & the Wheelies we quake at Fenella the Kettle Witch.
- And probably the most disturbing, from Rainbow we hide behind the sofa from George the Pink Hippo!

- Episode one will feature The Doctor helping an old lady find a missing soup ladle (possibly the Soup Dragon episode).
- Episode Four will have The Doctor buying postage stamps, it suggested he will meet Fenella in the post office queue.
- And in a two part season finale will have Snorky working with George to steal boiled sweets from their local pic n mix counter.

He added, Moffatt has elected not to use Crystal Tips and Alistar as rumoured, there are still some taboo subjects viewers aren't ready for!

OK ITS AN APRIL FOOL :)
