Classic Doctor Who In A Classic Radio Times (05-11-1977)

(Click for Larger Image)

Here is the Doctor Who page from Saturday 5th of November 1977, of the Radio Times. You can see what was on before and after and around Doctor Who.

At 6.15 its Dr Who, with part 2 of The Image of the Fendahl, more about it here.

Then at 6.35 its family entertainment with Bruce Forsyth & the Generation Game, followed by an Upstairs Downstairs type series, The Duchess of Duke Street, and thats all for BBC1 on this page!

BBC2 has the classic movie at 3.00 Many Rivers to Cross, followed st 4.30 by Horizon. 5.25 brings Woman at War, at 6.00 its Open Door about Fox Hunting (grrrr). 6.30 there is a simultaneous broadcast with stereo Radio 2, Sight & Sound in Concert.

At 7.30 its the News and sport, 7.45 theres Beauty is in the Eye, about a Hindu wedding, and no bonfire night would be complete without fireworks, so theres a Firework Fiesta at 7.55, this was a regular BBC2 feature every November 5th once, even in the days of black and white!

A huge thanx to Mark Breen for supplying this page (his blog is here). If YOU can help with classic Doctor Who in the Radio Times, like this one, any classic who year, please let me know!

If you repost this, please remember to include Marks name and my URL, although I'd rather you linked me instead. Thanx.

Just had a look, I still have over 30 more pages in the collection to use, and there are a lot more of the same here.

Not Doctor Who, but BBC Sci-Fi...

This is an adventure for Jet Morgan and his crew in this BBC Radio 4 full-cast drama, based on the original Journey Into Space radio serial by Charles Chilton. When they board an abandoned space freighter, Jet and Doc discover a digitised personality locked inside the ships computer, one with a deadly intent. Toby Stephens and David Jacobs are amongst the cast of this exciting adventure, first broadcast in June 2009.

Its October... Doctor Who

Its October 1st, that sneaked up on me, and its Autumn too, when did that happen?

85 days to the Doctor Who Christmas Episode, 11 days until the Sarah Jane Adventures season 4 premier, and we will be bringing you international and download versions of them as usual.

Whats more its Halloween in 31 days too, and I'm told 10th Planet is the only one of us who doesn't need a mask to scare people! In the UK its 36 days until Bonfire night also!

On Monday the specials soundtrack is being released too :)

Were heading towards Christmas at breakneck speed, I wonder if I'll get Nigella Lawson this year, I've asked for her for Christmas for many years now :)

Russell T Davies says Jackies 40th birthday in Rise of the Cybermen was a deliberate reference to Rise of the Cybermen being in the 40th anniversary of The Tenth Planet!
