The Future of The Sarah Jane Adventures

The Sun are reporting the BBC is to continue showing The Sarah Jane Adventures, and complete the series, despite Elisabeth Sladen's death.

However the BBC say this is rubbish, a statement is here.

The six completed episodes will be shown later this year.

The Sun getting it wrong AGAIN, I don't believe it :)

Its more likely a half truth misinterpreted.

It is likely the BBC will complete and show the 3 episodes that are already filmed (assuming THAT rumour is true)

If they 'only' need post production, then they can be completed as is.
If any of them needed any pickup work, the scripts could be revised to avoid it, or the editor could make executive decisions.

Any episode only partially begun is likely to be abandoned.

Its also unlikely that the premise would continue as 'The bannerman road gang' or similar, as that would imply using Sarah-Jane's house and Mr Smith.

Bob Baker has the rights to K9 as a series (see the Australian one currently showing) , so Luke & K9 wouldnt go on by themselves.

It's a shame there is no one who can fill Liz Sladen's shoes when it comes to this series. Perhaps they can use the remaining episodes to create a new off shoot?

There are still a few companions left on Earth that may still have a chance to take off where the series left off.
