Doctor Who Monologues

Below are some of the many monologues in Doctor Who, along with their speaker and episode. I apologize for the size of this post!

Now, the question for the hour is "Whose got the Pandorica?" Answer, I do. Next question, "Whose coming to take it from me?" [the Doctor gestures widely to all of the ships] Come on, look at me! No plan, no back up, no weapons worth a damn, oh, and something else: I don't have anything to loose! So, if you're sitting up there in your silly little space ships with all your silly little guns, and you've got any plans on taking the Pandorica tonight, just remember whose standing in your way! Remember every black day I ever stopped you, and then, and then, do the smart thing! [pause] Let somebody else try first. The Doctor (The Pandorica Opens)

Creatures from another world, only statues when you see them. Lonely assassins, they used to be called. No one quite knows where they came from but they are as old as the universe, or very nearly. They have survived this long because they have the perfect defense system, they are quantum locked. They don't exist when they are being observed. The moment they are seen by any other living creature they freeze into rock. No choice, it's a fact of their biology. In the sight of any living thing they literally turn to stone. And you can't kill a stone. Of course a stone can't kill you either, but then you turn your head away. And you blink. And oh yes it can. That's why they cover their eyes. Their not weeping, they can't risk looking at each other. Their greatest asset is their greatest curse. They can never be seen. Loneliest creatures in the universe. And I'm sorry. I'm very, very sorry. But it's up to you now. Your life could depend on this. Don't blink, don't even blink. Blink and you're dead. They are fast, faster than you can believe. Don't turn your back, don't turn away, and don't blink. Good luck. The Doctor (Blink)

Planet Earth. This is where I was born. And this is where I died. For the first nineteen years of my life nothing happened. Nothing at all. Not ever. And then I met a man called The Doctor. A man who could change his face. And he took me away from home in his magical machine. He showed me the whole of time and space. I thought it would never end. That's what I thought. But then came the Army of Ghosts, then came Torchwood and the war. And that's when it all ended. This is the story of how I died.
Rose Tyler (Army of Ghosts)

There was a war. A Time War. The last great Time War. My people fought a race called the Daleks for the sake of all creation, and they lost. They lost. Everyone lost. They're all gone now, my family, my friends, even that sky.
The Doctor (Gridlock)

Because I've seen him. He's like fire and ice and rage. He's like the night, and the storm in the heart of the sun. He's ancient and forever... He burns at the center of time and he can see the turn of the universe... And... he's wonderful.
Tim Latimer (Family of Blood)

[looking really disappointed] Well, if that's what you want. It's a bit soon. I had so many places I wanted to take you. The fifteenth broken moon of the Medusa Cascade, the lightning skies of Cotter Palluni's World, the diamond coral reefs of Kataa Flo Ko. Thank you. Thank you, Donna Noble, it's been brilliant. You've saved my life in so many ways. You're... you're just popping home for a visit, that's what you mean?
The Doctor (Sontaran Stratagem)

There are fixed points through time where things must always stay the way they are. This is not one of them. This is an opportunity. A temporal tipping point. Whatever happens today will change future events. Create its own time line, its own reality. The future pivots around you, here, now. So do good. For humanity, and for Earth. The Doctor (Cold Blood)

No. There were, but there aren't-- just me now. Long story. It was a bad day, bad stuff happened, and you know what I'd love to forget it all, every last bit of it, but I don't. Forever. Because this is what I do. Every time, every day, every second. This. Hold tight. We're bringing down the government. - The Doctor (The Beast Below)

If you are watching this, if I am watching this, then I have found my way to the Tower of London. The creature you are looking at is called a Star Whale. Once there were millions of them. They lived in the depth of space and, according to legend, guided the early space travelers through the asteroid belts. This one, as far as we are aware, is the last of its kind. And what we have done to it breaks my heart. The Earth was burning. Our sun had turned on us, and every other nation had fled to the skies. Our children screamed as the skies grew hotter. And then it came, like a miracle. The last of the Star Whales. We trapped it. We built our ship around it, and we rode on its back to safety. If you wish our voyage to continue, then you must press the 'forget' button. Be again the heart of this nation, untainted. If not, press the other button. Your reign will end, the Star Whale will be released, and our ship will disintegrate. I hope I keep the strength to make the right decision. - Elizabeth the Tenth (The Beast Below)

The Star Whale didn't come like a miracle all those years ago. It volunteered. You didn't have to trap it or torture it, that was all just you. It came because it couldn't stand to watch your children cry. What if you were really old, and really kind, and alone? Your whole race dead, no future? What couldn't you do then? If you were that old, and that kind, and the very last of your kind. [She looks at the Doctor.] You couldn't just stand there and watch children cry. - Amelia “Amy” Pond (The Beast Below)

There was a war. A Time War. The Last Great Time War. My people fought a race called the Daleks, for the sake of all creation. And they lost. We lost. Everyone lost. They're all gone now. My family. My friends. Even that sky. [reminiscent] Oh, you should have seen it! That old planet.... The second sun would rise in the south, and the mountains would shine. The leaves on the trees were silver, when they caught the light, every morning it looked like a forest on fire. When the autumn came, a brilliant glow though the branches. - The Doctor (Gridlock)

Do you now like I was sayin' about the Earth revolving? [walks toward Rose] It's like when you're a kid. The first time they tell you that the Earth's turning and you just can't quite believe it cause everything looks like it's standing still. [looks at Rose] I can feel it. [takes Rose's hand] The turn of the Earth. The ground beneath our feet is spinning at 1,000 miles an hour, and the entire planet is hurtling 'round the Sun at 67,000 miles an hour and I can feel it. We're falling through space, you and me, clinging to the skin of this tiny little world, and if we let go... [let's go of Rose's hand] That's who I am. - The Doctor (Rose)

This was exactly you. All this. All of it. You make them so afraid. When you began all those years ago, sailing off to see the universe, did you ever think you'd become this? The man who can turn an army around at the mention of his name.

Doctor. The word for healer and wise man throughout the universe. We get that word from you, you know. But if you carry on the way you are, what might that word come to mean?

To the people of the Gamma Forests, the word 'doctor' means 'mighty warrior.' How far you've come. And now they've taken a child, the child of your best friends. And they're going to turn her into a weapon just to bring you down. And all this, my love, in fear of you. (River Song, "A Good Man Goes To War")

How about the monologue from the Big Bang? "When you wake up, you'll have a mum and dad..."

In the Beast Below monologue, isn't it "Not ever." rather that "Forever."?
