Doctor Who The Wheel in Space (Alien style)

If in the 1960s Ridley Scott had had been asked to create a trailer for The Wheel in Space, it might have been like this...

This is well worth seeing BTW :) All I can say is WOW!

Amazing Facts About Doctor Who That May Not Be True - Scarf

The fourth Doctors scarf was made by a little old time lady who said I know how you start these things but i've never figured out how to end them, hence a 14 foot scarf!

SFX Remembers "Those We Lost in 2010"

Hammer Horror actress Ingrid Pitt
SFX has paid tribute to those we lost over the past year, many of whom are known in the world of Doctor Who. Geoffrey Burgon, who provided incidental music for the show, passed away, along with actress Ingrid Pitt, known to fans as Queen of Atlantis, Galleia from "The Time Monster" and Solow from "Warriors of the Deep". Pennant Roberts, director of the latter story, is also no longer with us.

Two writers - Mervyn Haisman ("The Abominable Snowmen") and Louis Marks ("Day of the Daleks") died in 2010.

Not all those deceased are mentioned, so if you're looking for a complete article of the happenings in 2010 (both in the Whoniverse and in the real world), click here.

Get a Free Doctor Who Fanzine

There are an insane amount of old style b/w fanzines about the Doctor Who universe out there (I'll have to start posting full scans of some), but the new trend is free Doctor Who pdf ones. Sadly some don't have any new information in them, so become pointless to read, but some are very good indeed, here are links to some of them;

Vortex, the Big Finish fanzine,
The Terrible Zodin fanzine,
Eyepiece fanzine,
Time & Space Visualiser fanzine,
This Way Up fanzine, 28,
Planet of the Ming Mongs fanzine
Fish Fingers and Custard fanzine,
Doctor Whoniverse Magazine Fanzine,
Reverse the Polarity fanzine.

If I have missed any free ones, please post the URL as a comment and I'll add it. I have Googled for them too, if your not here chances are Google and myself haven't heard of you, so here is your chance to rectify this!

A Paradoxical New Years Resolution? Doctor Who

If I made this resolution;

My new years resolution is not to make any new years resolutions,

Is it immediatly broken? Or could it become a Paradox? Under the Classic Doctor Who rules does the Blinovitch Limitation Effect stop it happening? Steven Moffat would certainly allow it today.

Based on a Facebook conversation I had with Jeff Waddell :)

Who Was Among 'Life, Doctor Who, and Combom' in 2010?

How many people read this blog at once?
At last it's a new year for Doctor Who, and yet January 1st — despite its resolutions and hopeful look to the coming year — calls for us to look back at the year that was. So let's take a brief look at how well Life, Doctor Who, and Combom did throughout 2010, as charted by the service Who's Amung Us, which calculates how many people were reading this blog at once. When it comes to hits, of course, we're fast nearing the big Five Million mark, but we also had an extraordinary amount of people reading this blog. Let's take a look at the month-by-month statistics. Sorry for the length, but there are, of course, twelve of these.
In January we had a maximum of 162 and an average of 34 people. In February we had a maximum of 109 and an average of 27 people. In March we had a maximum of 104 and an average of 28 people.
In April we had a maximum of 284 and an average of 45 people. In May we had a maximum of 289 and an average of 46 people. In June we had a maximum of 358 and an average of 62 people.
In July we had a maximum of 94 and an average of 40 people. In August we had a maximum of 135 and an average of 35 people. In September we had a maximum of 74 and an average of 30 people.
In October we had a maximum of 135 and an average of 40 people. In November we had a maximum of 146 and an average of 41 people. In December we had a maximum of 334 and an average of 43 people.
In terms of the past few years, this blog had a maximum of 39 people on at once in the entire year of 2008, with an average of just four. 2009 saw a substantial increase, with a maximum of 256 and an average of 21. And 2010 was best of all, seeing Doctor Who's triumphant return to the regular series format, and our hits reflected the very best of this blog's achievements: an all-time high of 358 people and a total average of 39 people at once through the year.

Who knows how well we'll do in 2011? No matter what the results, it'll all be due to you, our readership, and the support we've drawn from you over the past year and longer still. When did you first read this blog? Was it during Matt Smith's first story? During the finale in June? Perhaps it was only on Christmas Day? Many of you reading have even read this blog for years. Torchwood: The New World Synopsis

The official Torchwood Facebook page has updated with a new synopsis for this year's series of Torchwood, subtitled The New World. As always, click for larger image.

Thanks to the Doctor Who News Page

As plain text it says;
The new ten-part series of the Doctor Who spinoff will also see the return of regular Torchwood characters Captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman) and Gwen Cooper (Eve Myles).

Gwen will be shown living peacefully in Wales with husband Rhys (Kai Owen) and new baby Anwen when she encounters a "new, epic danger" that will "push [her] to the limit".

Having left Earth at the conclusion of previous miniseries Children of Earth, Harkness will be drawn back to the Torchwood institute by "his unstated love for Gwen".

Doctor Who of The Day - David Lloyd George.

In Aliens Of London, the Doctor claims to have been in drinking contest with former Prime Minister David Lloyd George.
