Submit A Storyline The Sun 11-1988 Doctor Who

Despite the misleading text, this isn't for Doctor Who;

Whopix says: It was [for a show] called "What`s Your Story?". Tuesday`s episode was based on viewers suggestions about how monday`s episode should be continued. [A bit like collaborative fan fiction.]

November 1988: The BBC broadcasts What's your Story?, a children's TV programme presented by Sylvester McCoy. The show asks viewers to phone in with suggestions of what happens next. The best ideas are then used.

Classic Doctor Who In A Classic Radio Times (02-03-1968)

(Click for Larger Image)

Here is the Doctor Who page from Saturday 2nd of March 1968, of the Radio Times. You can see what was on before and after and around Doctor Who.

At 10.00am is Komm Mit!, about learning German, followed at 10.30 by Bonjour Francoise, the same but French. BBC1 then closes down at 10.55 to 12.40.

12.40 sees the Weather Man followed by an afternoons sport with Grandstand at 12.45 until 5.15 when its cartoon fun with Tom & Jerry.

At 5,25 its Dr Who with part 5 of The Web Of Fear, more about it here.

5.50 sees the news and Weather man, then at 6.00 its classic US musical comedy with the Monkees, then UK variety with Dee Time at 6.25.

At 7.10 there is something, but we cant tell what (Dixon of Dock Green as a guess), then at 8.00 its The Rolf Harris Show.

A huge thanx to Mark Breen for supplying this page (his blog is here). If YOU can help with classic Doctor Who in the Radio Times, like this one, any classic who year, please let me know!

If you repost this, please remember to include Marks name and my URL, although I'd rather you linked me instead. Thanx.

I have about 5 pages in the collection to use (so getting low on them now), and there are a lot more of the same here.

Day One of the Official Doctor Who Site's Dalek Celebration

To celebrate the Doctor's most infamous enemies, the official BBC site has posted a classic clip from "Genesis of the Daleks", the episode which introduced the Kaled scientist Davros.
In this sequence we join Sarah Jane Smith and meet Davros for the first time. Sarah finds him testing the weaponry of his fledgling creations and as he realises they can blast away with power and accuracy, he delivers that chilling and ominous line: 'The weaponry is perfect... Now we can begin!'
You can also watch a scene from "The Space Museum", and guess "what happens next". The answer will be revealed tomorrow, along with the rest of the clip.

The article is also reminding readers to vote for your favourite Dalek moments!

Happy Birthday Elizabeth Sladen Doctor Who

Star of The Sarah Jane Adventures, Doctor Who, Classic Doctor Who and K9 and Company celebrates her birthday today, 1st February, and she is 63 (and doesn't look it!).

Is she the only person (along with K9, but he is technically a prop) to be in 4 different Whoniverse series (if you count Doctor who and classic Doctor Who as separate), plus the unofficial Doctor Who 1 shot spin-off Downtime also.

Elizabeth has appeared in Coronation Street, Z Cars, Doom Watch, Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em, Stepping Stones, Take My Wife, Silver Dream Racer, various TV Adverts, plus many other programs.

Series 5 of the Sarah Jane Adventures is due for screening this autumn, it is rumoured to be the last series though!

Happy Birthday Elizabeth Sladen!

More about her here and here.
