Noel Clarke & Benedict Cumberbatch Joins Star Trek Sequel Cast
Variety is reporting that director JJ Abrams has cast another actor for his 2013 Star Trek sequel. Brit Noel Clarke, best known for a recurring role on BBC’s Doctor Who, has joined the cast. There is no name given for the role, but Variety reports that Clarke will be playing "a family man with a wife and young daughter."
And Benedict Cumberbatch looks to have landed the main baddie in Star Trek 2. Deadline got the scoop that he had been cast in a "a lead role," and Variety adds that it is indeed the villain role that Edgar Ramirez auditioned for last month. At the time Ramirez was considered the top choice, but for whatever reason things have changed, and Cumberbatch is now the guy.
