Commemorating the life of Eisabeth Sladen

Today, the 1st February, would have been Elisabeth Sladen's Birthday. This year she would have been 66 today if she hadn't have been tragically taken from us.

It was a sad moment for us all and I feel that this year will be different, a world without Lis or Nicholas doesn't feel right, and to me a year on the news still hasn't sunk in.

’The universe has to move forward. Pain and loss, they define us as much as happiness or love. Whether it’s a world, or a relationship… Everything has its time. And everything ends.’

Great post, but Elisabeth would have actually been 66 today. She explains in her autobiography that she was born in 1946 but her agent once incorrectly gave her birth year as 1948 and this has appeared in many media reports about her death, including the BBC's.

RIP Elisabeth Sladen.

Was still shocked when my friend told me she'd died. For one moment I thought this post was going to be the 1 year anniversary of her death, was just thinking that went really quick.

Yes, she was born in 1946. I quote her autobiography:

"I was born on 1 February 1946. That's right, 1946. My daughter Sadie has a wicked sense of humour and she is forever laughing at articles that list my birth as 1948. 'Here's another one, Mum. Someone else who hasn't done their homework.' I think my agent was asked for my age once in 1970 and he gave the wrong answer and that's the year that has appeared in every piece of print ever since. So you can see how thorough journalists can be sometimes."

Let's hope Sadie doesn't somehow read this. ;)

I don't think I will ever come to terms that's Lis Sladen is gone. She is so incredibly alive in those final episode of SJA and I recently finished her wonderful autobiography. She is a legend.
