For those who are still unaware, Amy and Rory will leave Doctor Who during series 7. Showrunner Steven Moffat has previously said he intends the pair to have a "heartbreaking finale". Moffat also mentioned he is writing the episode now, so Moffat pens a mid-season episode also!

Rumour has it Amy will die and then Rory leaves, BUT this is rumour and should be taken with a pinch of salt ATM! IMHO Karen will want to come back to the show every now and then, so I think this is unlikely.

Karen has said in several interviews that she doesn't want to pop back like Rose did. She says that if Amy leaves, she wants it to be final. While this doesn't mean that she's going to be killed off, she probably isn't going to reappear at all after her departure.
After seeing her in"We'll take Manhattan" I think she should keep her options open, just in case...
