Barrowman denies Doctor Who 50th Anniversary return

Yesterday Doctor Who and Torchwood actor John Barrowman took to Twitter to officially announce he will NOT be involved with the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary this year, after much rumor and speculation. His tweet is shown below:

Are you happy or disappointed that John Barrowman will not be taking part in the 50th Anniversary special episode?

The more I read the denials, the more I wonder who really will be involved in the 50th Anniversary. In all the polls I've seen, Captain Jack was far and away the most popular Companion who fans wanted to see return for the 50th special. Sounds like it's shaping up to be a bit of a disappointment. Maybe I'll just watch ARROW instead ;o)

I think I'm glad. There is still rumours about more doctors, so it might get crowded. I'd love to see the return of Harkness one day, but not necessarily in the 50th Anniversary episode.

As far as we can tell, there will only be the regular cast on the anniversary. And what kind of anniversary is that? So far, the news has been a disappointment.

The whole point is not to spoil it for anyone. Denying rumours and all that is just part of what they are doing to either send you on the wrong track n dampen your excitement so that it will blow you away when it comes to it,
