Marcus Sedgwick revealed as third author in Doctor Who's 50th Anniversary eBook series

It was revealed today that Marcus Sedgwick is the author behind the 3rd instalment in the 50th Anniversary eBook line-up. Sedgwick is best known for Floodland, My Sword Hand is Singing and Midwinterblood.

His short story, entitled The Spear Of Destiny, will be released on the 23rd, featuring The Third Doctor and Jo Grant, priced at £1.99. A promotional video will be released on the 11th.

The Third Doctor and Jo Grant are trying to track down the magical spear of Odin when they find themselves caught up in a vicious battle between two Viking tribes. But one of the Vikings is even more dangerous than he appears to be. Can the Doctor stop the spear getting into the wrong hands before it’s too late?

Marcus Sedgwick commented: “To me, Jon Pertwee is the quintessential Doctor – a hero of both thought and action. When I was young he seemed like a schoolmaster you were a bit afraid of, and yet really liked at the same time. Bringing him back to life and pitting him against his old nemesis, The Master,(  (highlight to reveal spoiler) was a huge thrill for me and I hope fans will recognise Jon in the pages of my story.

You can read an extract of the story here.

Well, we are a spoiler site. But yes, true. Edited. :) Though since it came straight from the press release, I find it's status as a spoiler to be varying, since they don't usually put spoilers in the press release.

Would point out....it's a spoiler in the same sense as we knew the Master was returning to End of Time waay before it happened, and we know the Ice Warriors are coming back. It's the same type of spoiler.

THE MASTER RETURNS IN THE END OF TIME?!? I AM SHOCKED, AS I WAS NOT INFORMED!

But yeah, this one I legitimately had no idea, mostly because I haven't been following this book series(I have been waiting for Alistair Reynolds book though.)
