John Hurt's Future As The Doctor

Many rumours have flown around the internet surrounding John Hurt's character in Doctor Who's fiftieth anniversary special. Some of these rumours suggest that Hurt will not just appear in the anniversary episode, but will continue to play the part into the eighth season of the show, which features the new Doctor, played by Peter Capaldi. This particular rumour began circulating due to a tweet from John Hurt's official Twitter page:
“Congratulations, Peter Capaldi. I’m suboth and we will have a lot of fun”
I'm sure many of you will now race on to Twitter to try and find said tweet. Hurt's involvement with Capaldi's Doctor certainly does pose even more interesting questions about the nature of Hurt's role. Interestingly, the tweet was hastily deleted, and replaced with:
“Congratulations to Peter Capaldi and to the BBC. Another splendid Doctor!”
The correction may have been made just to sort out the typo from the original tweet. But then again, the possibility exists that Hurt could have been asked to remove the tweet in order to keep secrets about the next series of the show under wraps.

Whatever the case, there most certainly are many more secrets still to be uncovered before November, and after this little blunder, I for one can't wait to find out what they'll be...

if it's not simply an error, the only explanation I can think of is that the Hurt Doctor somehow carries over into Matt's final story, which would be bizarre to say the least

I suspect Hurt might, in some form, become the Valeyard. Given Hurt's existence, the Smith-Capaldi regeneration should produce the Valeyard. Why would he take the face of no. 8.5, I have no idea but if they were fond of the actor, they could find a way to explain it.
