Charley Says Volumes 1 & 2 DVD Report

Charley Says Volumes 1 & 2
features the greatest television Public Information Films ever made!

DVD 1 features all the Charley Says, all the Tufty films, Joe and Petunia and loads of classic animated films. You also have Donald Pleasance as the Spirit of dark and Lonely Water, plus silly Jimmy who goes into a substation to get his frisby back and gets thousands of volts instead.

DVD 2 is less impressive as it seems to feature quite a few films which are very similar to each other and are quite boring, especially the b/w pre-1964 ones, but if you remember Derek Griffiths teaching us about SPLINK then these are on here too, as are the 1970s SOS - Switch off Something!

You can check out loads of Public Information Films here. However after four and a half hours of these, I'm now afraid of ice, fog, rain, snow, water, electricity, gas, cars, lorries, strangers, dogs, rabies, sneezing, leaving electricals plugged in, and a host of others. Maybe I'll just stay in bed! Overall, thoroughly recomended viewing!

Heres one from the DVD...

Is Doctor Who Guest Star Information Being Leaked?

On January the 22nd, the web site Chortle announced Lee Evans was to appear in Planet of the Dead, this either beat the BBC to the announcement, or forced the BBC to announce his appearance.

Then yesterday the Daily Record told us Lindsay Duncan was to appear in the following Doctor Who adventure, and today the BBC verified this.

Are websites releasing the information 24 hours too early? Or is the information being leaked and the BBC have to announce its true?

Watchmen Movie New Trailer

Get the comic book here, even if you don't like comic books, this is still the one to read!

Lindsay Duncan Nude Scene

(Click for larger Image)

Like many of the Doctors assistants, Lindsay Duncan has done nude scenes in movies or on TV, here she is naked from the TV series Traffic (although 20 years ago!).

And before anyone complains, material seen in the Sun is far fruitier than this :)

UPDATE - Picture deleted, all I can find is a very low res version :)

The Legend Of Hell House DVD Report

The Legend Of Hell House
is in the tradition of The Haunting of Hill House. Four psychic investigators are called on to spend a week in the mount Everest of Haunted houses, the Belasco House, to prove or disprove life after death.

Ben Fischer (Roddy McDowall) has investigated the house before, and was the only survivor last time, he knows of the existence of paranormal activity there. Scientist Lionel Barrett (Clive Revill) believes that he can trace the happenings to rational explanations involving electric current, Florence Tanner (Pamela Franklin) is convinced that, if spirits exists, she will be able to communicate with them, and Clives wife Ann (Gayle Hunnicutt) is ripe for possession!

The Legend Of Hell House was made in 1973, and IMHO is one of the best horror movies of the seventies, I have seen it several times, and its gets better and better! There are less then 10 people in the movie but is far from budget, the external shots of the house look very familiar to UK horror fans! Great movie.

Here is the trailer, but it doesn't do the movie justice...
