Benedict Cumberbatch to play The Master for Doctor Who 50th anniversary?
You thought it was a good idea, I thought it was a good idea, my cat thought it was a good idea, in fact there is almost no Doctor Who fan who didn't like the idea, and now the Radio Times are coming out in support of Benedict Cumberbatch playing The Master for the Doctor Who 50th anniversary.
To be honest I didn't really like John Simms incarnation of the Master, there was something missing, perhaps I remember and love Roger Dalagos interpretation, he is certainly a classic character I always want to watch, everyone since seems a lightweight!
Apparently Doctor Who insiders say Cumberbatch, 35, is being lined up for the role and is likely to take on Matt Smith’s Doctor as the show celebrates its half-century in 2013, according to The Express (who haven't got a track record of getting it right, and even if they do, they didn't suggest it first!)
Cumberbatch has shown he is not averse to playing sci-fi villains, having landed a role as the nemesis in the second instalment in JJ Abramss Star Trek movie reboot.
