In case you haven't already downloaded it for free (yes, that Itunes promotion is still going at time of posting), BBC America is streaming "Fires of Pompeii". "The Tenth Doctor and Donna find themselves in the ancient Roman city of Pompeii the day before the devastating eruption of Mount Vesuvius....", and it's only available until 27 August. For Capaldi's sake, we hope that he was happy with his performance in that episode given how many people are scrutinizing it now.
(James Moran was excited about his casting back then, though not as excited as he was about Phil Davis. The conversation on his Twitter feed after the Doctor Who Live announcement is amusing, particularly as Moran also did the third episode of "Children of Earth" and has therefore written for Capaldi in both his Doctor Who-ish roles thus far. Not to mention a wry discussion about whether Pompeii counts as a multi-Doctor story, with reference to "The Fires of Vulcan", naturally. We mentioned last week Moran would be at the Dylan Thomas Festival, though he's also appearing at Cardiff Comic Con at the end of the month.)
We did the trailer in the last post, so here's something quite different: the Cambridge Latin Course trailer for Caecilius, although strangely enough it's in English and not Latin.
