The Daleks In Next Weeks Radio Times Doctor Who

(Click for Larger Images)

Next weeks Radio Times is a Dalekfest, and its available in three covers, each featuring a differently aligned Dalek, in red, blue and yellow. The Radio Times gallery features the Doctors deadliest enemies in their latest incarnation - and takes a look back at the genesis of the Daleks too!

And there are more pictures here.

I will have scans of next weeks TV papers on tomorrow morning :)

This is a 2005 cover, not a massive difference, and identical slogan too!

If that's going to become the new look for the entire species, then they will have completely killed the Daleks for me. As a design for a Supreme/Council type thing, it's fine. But if that's the new standard, they're dead to me.

I liked em. They look a lot like the 60s/ Peter Crushing daleks, which is very, very cool. Can't wait for Saturday.

So I'm guessing, if it's an election special, it's Red Dalek for Labour, Blue Dalek for Conservatives and Yellow Dalek for Liberal Democrats?

No, those colour daleks are in the episode as well. Though the colours are much more toned down. And the bulkiness of the middle section isn't so bad, it's not that good of a picture. Wait till you see the episode, those that have seen it have said they look really good.

Is this going to be the new standard of the entire species? I liked the old ones better if it is. "Dead to me" is a bit extreme, but I agree they'd be better as special leaders rather than a new standard.

According to TV and Satellite Guide the colours are for special types of daleks as follows:
Red: Drones
Blue: Scientists
White: Supreme
Orange: Strategist (I think)
Yellow: Eternal

There are bits of them i like and bits I'm not too sure about (the fat waste and the panels that house to spheres on the lower body).

they are quite retro. I'll wait until I see the episode to make a full judgement though.

These daleks are not factions like we had in the past. These are the real, original daleks.

I like them, and those who don't shouldn't complain too much. After all they've redesigned and upgraded themselves. And "Daleks have no concept of elegance."

Tyler,

Do you mean original as in the same Daleks that the First Doctor encountered/Davros created way back when on Skaro, or original in the sense that they're newer versions of the ones that have appeared since the Ninth Doctor encountered them?

ehh
they are kinda cool, but they don't really look scary or evil. i agree, they do look more like the classic series' ones but still. i like the new/rtd ones since they look more scary and rugged; these look like big plastic rainbow things- i don't know; im rambling. but whatever, we'll see.

Yes, they are the first ones Davros made. Two RTD cameo camo and one gold RDT dalek are using the British army so they can do some time related stuff and bring back the original daleks. They do.

And Hammard is right, different colours have different names.

Red: Drones
Blue: Scientists
White: Supreme
Orange: Strategist
Yellow: Eternal

someones are waiting the return of the Ice warriors

OK, them being the originals is fine. That means the RTD ones are more advanced, and so it would make sense for the originals to upgrade themselves to new and improved casings. If those became the new standard and the RTD ones never appeared again I'd be quite disappointed.
