EXCLUSIVE: Doctor Who Artwork Group — "The Space Museum"

"There are some great artists out there who have astoundingly low page views while hacks are becoming superstars, so I'm doing something about it. . . ."
Paul Hanley recently contacted us about a new and exciting group on DeviantArt in which users have submitted "some of the very best 'pro and talented amateur' Who artists out there", many of whom absolutely deserve more attention. Most of the work belongs to those "talented amateurs", though a good deal is comprised of professional pieces, some of which has featured in Doctor Who Magazine and the IDW comics.

The Space Museum group has rapidly drawn consideration and awed respect worldwide, and it's certainly one of the greatest collections of original Doctor Who art pieces anywhere on Earth or in the Internet.
I'm not an "official" DW artist m'self, but I did just do the cover for the new Iris Wildthyme anthology from Obverse Books (yes, featuring the likeness of your beloved Katy Manning). I've also worked on Moonstone's Buckaroo Banzai comic as well as a couple other things. You can check out that stuff (as well as a fat chunk of DW fan art) on my DA site.

Keep up the good work. (But less Colin and Katy hate. Please?)
Well, we could be nicer to Colin.

Make sure you take the time to examine as much Space Museum art as you please, with pieces from all eras, all Doctors, and all ranges of extraordinary talent. And make sure to check back every once in a while, because The Space Museum updates regularly.

Click here for The Space Museum DeviantArt group, and enormous thanks go out to Paul Hanley himself.

I don't get that Colin and Katy hate either.

I've met both and they're really nice people. Very funny and generous with their time.

Colin was the victim of some extremely poor programming choices at the time; the costume, the personality, the writing.

Lets not forget that some major production team disputes happened during his tenure and that one of the writing "Gods" of Doctor Who died leaving the final story of the umbrella season unfinished.

Oh... and I'm not gonna go there with Katy. Anyone who can do what she did with a dalek is ok by me.
