Capaldi: "I'm Too Young for The Doctor"

At the Sky Women in Film & Television Awards on Friday, Steven Moffat and Peter Capaldi were interviewed by the Press Association on his new role as the Time Lord.
In the interview, a clip of which can be seen in the player below, Steven Moffat stated " “The Doctor’s thousands of years old, they've never been able to find an actor old enough to play him!"

Capaldi agreed, “I'm 1,995 years too young for the part, really. So I think the Doctor's going to be quite happy to look his age at last!”

Capaldi later added, "They are just one, but they're all of those actors, and they're all a delight, I think they're all fabulous, and I'm lucky to have them in my DNA, because I've watched it from year dot, so they're great."

When asked if he was looking forward to the fans' reactions to his take on the Doctor, he responded: "I haven't seen it, so I'm looking forward to my reaction. My family are all coming over to watch Matt Smith turning into me which will be interesting."

The Time of the Doctor will air at 7:30pm on Christmas Day and will be the last episode for the departing 11th Doctor.
